an ocean and two moons

it's been a while and finally, a pause intercepts--
i can rest now

new year's day was a little different,
but warm, affectionate, heartfelt in every sense of the words

i wish that we could have talked,
i wish that i didn't feel so lost
i wish that everyone has/d the happiness they deserve,
that smiles would greet me everywhere i go
and i'll smile in return

these little exchanges might just make the world a little warmer,

to you all who i cherish,
that we remain always in touch,
that the distance between us all can easily be covered,
that we last,

i miss you all, i really do,
but i'm happy that i shared a period of life with you
you have influenced me in ways unimaginable,
and even though i do, during the loneliest hours, wish to change history--
it remains,
and the uncountable beautiful memories brings a smile on my lips
