please forgive my stupidity

my casual words hurt someone a few days ago-- unintentionally,
even so,

there is no excuse.

"it wasn't on purpose," is a reason i do not wish to use or think,
because it only affirms my lack of consideration;
it shows i was not thinking of the person, i was not taking the person to heart.

i apologize,

'cuz the words stung,
especially when the wound is still fresh,
still bleeding,
still more than in pain.,

and your warm, slightly wry smile only deepens my guilt,
i want and will be part of the happiness that lights up your world
